96% of retail teams use AI somewhere in their operations. Only 38% of frontline workers actually use it day to day. That gap between strategy and execution is the backdrop for two events landing this October on opposite sides of the distribution business.
Global Commercial & SFE Summit, Berlin
The 16th Annual Global Commercial and Sales Force Excellence Summit runs October 13–15 at Hotel MOA Berlin, hosted by KP-Morgan.
It's aimed specifically at commercial and sales leaders in the healthcare sector, covering commercial models, sales operations, and customer engagement strategies for pharma and healthcare brands.
That's a narrower audience than the name suggests. But for anyone managing a pharma field sales team, a sales-force-excellence conversation in Berlin is still one worth tracking, even secondhand.
NFRA Convention, National Harbor
Further out, October 17–20, the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association holds its annual Convention at the Gaylord National in National Harbor, Maryland.
It's built around manufacturer-retailer-distributor meetings at scale, reportedly over 7,500 of them across the four days, with logistics providers also in the room.
For a frozen or refrigerated foods distributor, that's less a conference and more a scheduled block of back-to-back deal-making, concentrated into a few days rather than spread across a quarter of calls.
Strategy on Stage, Execution Still in the Field
Neither event is about field software. But both are, underneath, about the same problem: getting a strategy decided in a conference room to actually run correctly in the field, at the pharma rep's next call or the distributor's next truck route.
Close the Gap Between Strategy and the Field
See how 1Channel's Sales Force Automation turns beat plans, visits, and reporting into one connected system, so what gets decided in a strategy meeting actually shows up in the next day's fieldwork.

A sales-force-excellence summit and a distributor-meeting marathon look like different events. They're both symptoms of the same gap the 96%-to-38% stat points at: plenty of AI and strategy investment at the top, far less of it actually reaching the person doing the work in the field.
That gap doesn't close by attending either event. It closes when the systems reps and distributors actually use day to day are built to carry a strategy decision all the way to execution, not just report on it after the fact.
