Structuring Point Payout Options for Channel Partners

A partner's earned loyalty points only become useful once they can actually be spent.

This post covers the three paths 1Channel's loyalty platform offers for turning points into value: an instant bank transfer, a reward-catalogue voucher, or a physical item.

It also covers what a program team configures differently for each one.

This matters wherever a brand runs a channel-partner or influencer program across the UAE's distribution network: FMCG, building materials, consumer durables and electronics, and retail and modern trade.

Three Ways a Partner Can Redeem Earned Points

Every program offers at least one of three redemption paths, and many run more than one on the same program.

Redemption path How it reaches the partner What the program team configures
Direct bank or wallet transfer Instant payout via a payment-partner integration, or batched processing every 1-2 weeks Point-to-currency conversion rate, instant vs. batched processing, minimum redeemable balance
Reward catalogue voucher A retail or e-commerce voucher code, PIN, and expiry date sent straight to the partner's registered mobile number Which vouchers appear in the catalogue, and the minimum/maximum points range per voucher
Physical rewards catalogue A physical item procured and shipped through a vendor partner, tracked through Processing, Shipped, and Completed Which items appear in the catalogue, and how shipping updates flow back into the partner's app

Two Redemption Setups, Configured Differently

An instant bank payout and a shipped physical reward move through the platform in very different ways.

Example: a field partner in Dubai redeems 8,200 points as a direct bank transfer.

The platform converts the points at the program's set rate and routes the payout through a payment-partner integration.

The partner sees AED 820 land in their account the same day.

Example: a retailer in Abu Dhabi redeems 15,000 points for an AED 1,500 electronics voucher from the Reward Catalogue.

The order triggers instant fulfillment from the voucher integration, and a voucher code, PIN, and expiry date reach the partner's phone within minutes.

It shows up right away in Order History as Completed.

A physical reward follows a slower path by design: it moves through Processing, then Shipped, then Completed as a vendor partner fulfills it.

Each update reflects back into the same Order History screen.

Redemption Payouts Alongside the UAE's Digital Payment Mix

Visa and Mastercard still carry most card volume, but UAE partners increasingly expect wallet-speed payouts.

PayBy and the newer domestic Jaywan card scheme already offer that speed for everyday purchases.

Configuring an instant bank or wallet payout alongside a voucher catalogue lets a program meet that expectation without forcing every partner onto the same method.

A batched processing mode stays available too, for programs that settle payouts every one to two weeks instead.

How 1Channel Keeps Every Redemption Path Configurable

1Channel's loyalty platform runs direct bank transfers, a reward catalogue, and a physical rewards catalogue from the same points ledger.

A program team can offer one path or several without stitching together separate systems.

Every redemption, whatever path a partner chose, still shows up in the same Order History screen with its own status.

Decision Checklist Before Turning On a New Redemption Path

  • Set the point-to-currency conversion rate and processing mode. Decide whether payouts run instantly or on a batch cycle before partners start earning against it.
  • Define a minimum redeemable balance. This keeps a payout run from triggering for a handful of points.
  • Confirm how the reward catalogue is sourced. Whether it runs through an integration or is managed manually changes how fast a voucher actually fulfills.
  • Check that Order History reflects every path's real status. Not just the digital ones, so a partner waiting on a shipped item isn't left guessing.
  • Review which payout rail partners actually use. Bank transfer, wallet, or a domestic card scheme, before locking the program into just one option.

Note: Software screens may vary based on your business structure and configured workflows.
